Bible Study Class—“Living Together Outside of Marriage” will be the study of the Adult Sunday School Class that meets in the multi-purpose room. This class starts January 8 at 9:30 a.m. All are invited. Come see what the Bible teaches us on this “current” topic and how we can be God’s witnesses. This is a 2-week study.

Habakkuk—Today, we begin a multi-week study of the book of Habakkuk in Bible Class. Come hear how the prophet Habakkuk waited for a vision the Lord promised him. As he waited, he received God's encouragement and patience. As we study Habakkuk, we will see steadfast faith, even in the face of persistent evil.

Interested in becoming a member of Faith?—Our next new member class is on Saturday, January 14. The class runs from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The new member class presents the basics of the Christian faith, and explains what it means to be a Lutheran. To register, call the church office.

Workcamp Meeting—High school youth and parents are invited to a workcamp meeting on January 15th, right after Sunday School in the multi-purpose room, lower level of the education building. We have initial information about this summer’s workcamp in Joplin to share with you.

Senior Youth—Movie Night is planned for Sunday, January 15th, in the youth room from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Popcorn and drinks provided.

Mom’s Bible Study—This Bible study group will be resuming on Friday, January 13, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Any women who are interested are welcome to attend. We will be looking at Stepping Up–A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent by Beth Moore. The cost of the study guide is $7.00. Valentine Dinner—Show your love for Lutheran education by marking your calendar for February 12, and make plans to attend the Board of Parish Education’s 2nd Annual Valentine Dinner to raise funds for needs-based scholarships. Good food...great friends...wonderful cause. See you there!

Pro-Life Dinner—The Pro-Life Benefit Dinner/Speaker Event is planned for Wednesday, January 18, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Pro-Life speaker, Dr. Allan Keyes, will be the special guest with proceeds going to 40 Days For Life. For reservations call Brenda at 496-3493. This will be a very interesting event. Plan to come!

Faith’sPandamania VBS—Thisyear is the perfect place and time to show just how wild you areabout God. It will be held on July 11-15, from 8:45-11:45. We arestill in need of volunteers so stop by the display table inthe entryway to pick up your volunteer forms or registration forms.

TeensEncounter Christ—“TEC”will be held this year at Faith Lutheran Church thisSaturday, June 11, at 10 a.m., through Monday, June 13, at 7p.m. TEC is for teens and adults 16 years and older. The retreat isled by Lutheran lay persons, youth, and clergy who have alreadyattended a TEC weekend as they share themselves through talks,worship, prayer, fellowship, recreation, and prayer. TEC retreatgives participants an opportunity to experience the Risen Lordis a personal and refreshing way, apart from the business of life.Applications and more information are available online atfaithinjeffcity.org.

Parents of Trinity Students—For the school year parents are asked to check their TLS FastDirect account for a message from the Board of Parish Education. We have modified the process for payment of tuition assistance for member students. A fully completed and signed application form for each student and a covenant of compliance form for each family must be submitted by Friday, May 20 in order to begin tuition assistance payments to TLS in June. Application and covenant forms, as well as Board of Parish Education policies for tuition assistance are also available on the information table in the narthex. Completed application forms may be turned in to the church office, the Board of Parish Education mailbox in the hall outside the church office, or to any board member. Please contact Andrew Sporleder (395-9905), Dean Hopkins (636-2804), or Sara Hartman (635-8633) with questions. Thank you for your assistance. It is a joy to help provide a Christian education to our member children.

Calvary Golf Outing—Fulton’s Tanglewood Golf Course will host the 7^th Annual Calvary Lutheran High School Golf Outing on June 10^th. The four person scramble format provides a great afternoon of golf. The event begins with lunch at noon, a shot-gun start at 1 p.m., and ends with dinner and drawings. Calvary Barbeque—Come to Calvary High School and enjoy some delicious barbeque while shopping for your plants on Friday and Saturday. The Golf Tournament team will be serving pork steaks, hamburgers, and brats on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and enjoy some

wonderful food!

Calvary High School’s Spring Concert—Calvary’s choir will present their annual Spring Concert this Tuesday evening, May 10^th, 7 p.m., at Calvary Lutheran High School. Come and enjoy a wide selection

of music including a small group and several special choreographed selections.

Calvary’s Graduation—Everyone is invited to attend Calvary’s third commencement service. This service will be held on May 28^th, 1 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek,

Girls Softball, Boys Baseball, and Boys Basketball Coaches — Calvary is accepting coaching applications for the positions of junior varsity girls softball, varsity boys baseball, and varsity boys basketball. Calvary’s Thank you to everyone who worked on committees, donated items, attended the event, and financially supported our Spring Fling. Your assistance made this event a wonderful success.

Calvary’s Recruitment—Applications for the 2011-12 school year are now being accepted. We thank God that he has already graciously provided 14 families who are seeking a Lutheran, Christ-centered education.

Camping/Canoe Trip—For the last 11 summers, a group of families from here at Faith have gone together on a camping/canoe trip. This year we’re trying a new place but reservations are needed and soon as it’s a popular place. The dates are June 22-26. Some families stay the whole time, some just come for a few nights. If camping isn’t your thing, we can let you know about nearby hotels. If you’re interested in more details, contact Holly Oberkrom at 893-6307 or glohao "at" aol.com. So far we have four families going! Fun!

Husbands! The greatest gift you can give to your wife this Mother’s Day is to commit to attend the Lutheran Marriage Encounter Weekend on June 10-12, at the Holiday Inn, South Lindbergh Boulevard.
